Weigall Oval
2020
Oval Terrace, Plympton
The Weigall Oval trotting track was established in 1936 and remained one of the last suburban tracks until 2018. The redevelopment took into consideration the rich history of the site and referenced this across all areas of the site.
This project on behalf of the City of Plympton consisted of the redevelopment of Weigall Oval, including outdoor soccer and baseball fields, car parking plus external and sport lighting.
The club rooms were demolished and replaced with a new oval sports club building designed to be flexible and for multi-use.
There was also the addition of multiple nature play spaces and a streamlined link to the Westside bikeway.
