This year’s International Women in Engineering Day (INWED) celebrates the theme “Together We Engineer”. A powerful reminder of the vital contributions women engineers make every day across the globe, from delivering sustainable solutions to strengthening our communities.
At TMK, we’re proud to recognise the women in our team who help shape the future of engineering. By sharing their journeys, the projects they’ve contributed to, and their hopes for the next generation, we celebrate their achievements and reaffirm our commitment to a more inclusive, innovative, and equitable profession.
Meet some of TMK’s incredible engineers, drafters, and technical officers, and learn more about the meaningful work they do and the change they’re helping to create.
Eva Haisova - Contract Administrator & Superintendent
Eva rejoined TMK Consulting Engineers in 2022 and plays an integral role in supporting our Urban Development team. Her work underpins the successful delivery of complex subdivision and infrastructure projects through the careful planning and administration of contracts.
With over 30 years of experience across a range of roles across the engineering industry, Eva brings a wealth of knowledge to every project. She manages the preparation and administration of contracts, including amendments and variations and monitors budgets, schedules, and performance to ensure everything runs smoothly and the project is delivered successfully.
Mayra Lazo - Civil Drafter
What inspired you to pursue a career in engineering?
With a background in business information systems, engineering felt completely outside my comfort zone, but that’s exactly what drew me in. I was motivated by the chance to push myself and learn something entirely new.
How has TMK shaped your journey?
TMK believed in my potential from the start and has provided a supportive environment where I’ve grown both technically and in confidence. I’ve had the chance to work on diverse projects and learn from incredibly talented people. Being part of a team that values collaboration and continuous learning has made all the difference.
What changes would you like to see in the industry for the next generation of women?
I’d love to see more women in leadership roles and technical positions where they can influence decisions and shape the future of engineering.
Minhua Yang - Senior Technical Officer
Minhua has been a valued member of TMK Consulting Engineers since 2005, working as a Senior Technical Officer within our Structural team. With an extensive career in structural drafting, she has contributed to a wide range of projects across the commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. Minhua’s technical knowledge has made her a key part of delivering accurate, high-quality documentation for projects of all sizes and complexities. Her dedication and experience continue to support the success of TMK’s structural design work.
Yasemin - Mechanical Engineer
What does the theme “Together We Engineer” mean to you personally?
To me, “Together We Engineer” means collaboration – not just across technical disciplines, but across people with different perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences. As a woman in engineering, being part of a team where everyone’s input is valued reminds me that innovation happens when we bring diverse voices to the table.
What advice would you give to young girls considering a future in engineering?
Don’t let stereotypes shape your decisions. If you enjoy problem-solving, being creative, and working on projects that make a difference, engineering is a powerful path — and one where women absolutely belong. Women in engineering are strong, capable, and bring a unique perspective that’s essential for solving today’s complex challenges. You don’t need to change who you are to succeed — you already have what it takes to thrive, lead, and make a real impact
Judy - Structural Engineer
Judy joined TMK in 2007 as a Structural Engineer and is now a Senior Engineer within our Structural & Civil team. With over 17 years of industry experience, she has worked across a broad range of sectors including residential, commercial, and industrial developments, delivering projects of varying scale and complexity. Judy’s deep technical expertise and commitment to quality make her a valued member and mentor within the team.
